Do you have other options than either 1) recruiting ESOL teachers who are pleased to take over your apartment, already furnished with a feline colony, or 2) saving most of your meagre salary for the shipping-back and quarantine costs ...?
Actually, the US doesn't have quarentine for domestic animals, so long as they have a certificate from a vet saying they're healthy... so it's mainly just saving up for the shipping costs.
