I saw my dream-mobile today.

Isn't that simply awesome? It was parked on my street today, and I must admit that I stood and drooled over it for a while. I would love to get a scooter like this - if anyone in GA comes across anything like this for sale for cheap, let me know!

Does this mean I can keep the Echo?

If you buy me the above Honda, yes.

Hi Jane!

It looks to be either a "Metropolitan" or "Metropolitan II", according to Honda's website.

Metropolitan:

Metropolitan II:

The site says they're both MSRP below $1900

they are cool scooters but my gf was hit by a bus riding one in seoul - she was lucky to only have some bumps and bruises - the pricey little scooter didn't fair as well

it is still in the "hospital" where hopefully it will remain

Matthew - Thanks for the links!

Guano Island - I would NEVER ride one in Korea; I'd be too scared. I'm thinking more in terms of rural southeast GA. glad your GF faired better than the scooter!

they would be great for small town cruisin'

did you go UGA by anychance or are otherwise familar with Athens GA?

What about Josh Joplin?

Why does this remind me of the kudda scooter?

Guano Island - No, I didn't go to UGA, although when I was in college (Sewanee), I made several treks down to Athens for concerts. A great town!

Chris - Because it's a scooter? Also, I would have spelled it "cooter scooter" but that's just me :-)

Hey Jane,

You have an Echo too hahahah. Can't beat 35mpg in the city. I have a silver Echo back in Atlanta that is waiting to be driven more than once a month by a friend hehe.

PS. There are a lot of scooter shops that you can get something like that (vintage looking scooter) for less than a super break-able Vespa.

Check out a STELLA

You can get a new one downtown for about $2000 I belive. Maybe a cheaper used on on Craigslist or Cycletrader.

Haha! *you* own an Echo too?? Mine's "aqua ice opalescent", which was their fancy name for shiny light blue. My mom has been driving mine as her primary vehicle for the past two years while I've been overseas... poor car.

I wonder if she would really buy me a scooter? Hmmm....

Alas, it turns out that the orange scooter on my street is a Honda Scoopy which is not sold in the US. Boo :-(

But these Stellas which Rob pointed out to me are pretty fab. I love the seafoam one, but it's so much more expensive than the Buddy. Hmmm.

Actually been discussing scooters with my mom...

Please Please Please come and take the cooter scooter off my hands. Name your price!

annie said...

No thanks. The cooter scooter is just too big for me. And too modern looking. I'm a fan of the smaller vintage looking ones in cool colors.

Actually, it is no longer for sale. It was stolen last night.

hahaha that's hilarious! (er, no offense)

the earlier poster was right. it is a metropolitan or a metropolitan II. it is sold in the US.
