Terrifying.

You need to listen to this. Now.
Especially if you're an American.
Do you find that as terrifying as I do?

These organizations concerns me much more: Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency as well as the NSA.

As for Blackwater take a look at the National Geographic Explorer
Iraq's Guns for Hire [TV-14 V]
Also airs: Tuesday, March 27
Sunday, April 1
For up to $600 a day, private security contractors in Iraq's war zone put their lives on the line to protect V.I.P.s and transport critical supplies. Now, Explorer travels alongside three teams of these mercenaries on missions in the "kill zone" to reveal street rules of defense, tools for surviving ambushes and preparedness for the unexpected. See how specially designed vehicle armor and customized weapons help these mercenaries survive being targeted by insurgents.

I had already heard this on NPR. My first thought was 'Why not just turn the war over to them and bring the troops home?' My next thought was that this could be used to influence events at home. We have really regressed, considering that Henry VII made sure that he got rid of the private armies of the nobles, that had caused so much turmoil. (Not that I would view Bush as noble.)

John - I must say that from my time as a fed, I've come to doubt that any government agency is all that capable of anything. The NSA is a little creepy and/or intriguing, given the secrecy which surrounds them. But what bugs you about DARPA?

Mom - Interesting point! Also, while I too certainly don't consider Bush "nobility" it's certainly a good reference, given the political dynasty the Bushes have going on these days.

Hi Jane! The gov't. aquired Nikola Tesla's work after his death concerning doomsday weapondry. If we can use a jolt of electricity to restart a person's heart; there are ways to stop it using certain types of interference (electrical, radio, microwave, etc.). Not only our gov't., but other governments from around the globe are working on microwave technology to cook a person from the inside out, vortex guns that use high compression air to fire objects of any size, shape, or material than can actually knock an aircraft out of the sky, lasers to blind pilots and instumentations, and other Millenium Weapons. 20/20 ran an entire episode about this a few years ago and almost all of their research came from ex-Darpa employees. And, until the world decides that the price of oil is too high (its actual cost, as well as those lives to secure it) the world will only become more volatile. More countries like Russia and China will support Iran, and other extreme countries if it means cheap and abundant sources of energy. And just try to speak out in Russia, they have plenty of radioactive material they can slip into your drinks if you don't play ball.

What will happen in 15-25 years when China won't have enough women for all its bachelors? Will they take them by force from other countries? The world is a scary place. Albiet, quite beautiful at times.

Hey, if you don't have access to a slingbox like me to watch tv from around the world, you can use bitComet (http://www.bitcomet.com/)and download movies and tv shows for free as torrents. Or, from many other places on the web. If you need some directions, let me know.

John from Daejeon.

You should have a look at the BBC documentary "The power of nightmares" which might help throw a bit of light about where groups like this fit into the big picture.
