Want to live and work in Korea?

Those of you who have followed my blog for a while know that I spent 13 months teaching English in Daegu, South Korea. Anyway, the school where I taught is currently looking for a new teacher, as one of their teachers will be returning to the US in a couple of months. It's a great place to work and I highly recommend it. If any of you are interested, please leave me a message and I will get back to you with the details.

If I had the qualifications to be a teacher, I would likely jump all over that!

Just in case you weren't sick of me asking Korea-type questions...

Do you have any tips on picking up the basic language skills (good websites, books, etc)? I've got the alphabet down pretty well (except for the weird double vowels that sound the same) and I can say hello and my name is. That's something, right?

Hey Jane and Jane's readers! As the teacher who took Jane's job and is (sadly) leaving the position, I can also tell you it's a GREAT place to live and work. I'm having a fantastic time and the school is a very positive environment. Feel free to drop me a line as well, if you have any questions.

hi jane,
what qualifications do you need to teach in Korea?

There are plenty of jobs in Korea available which only require you to have a Bachelor's degree. Any subject is acceptable. You must undergo a criminal background check and travel to the nearest Korean embassy/consulate for an interview.
