Vacation Prep

On Saturday, Katy, Joe and I are heading for Osh, the second largest city in Kyrgyzstan, located a 12 hour drive to the south. I'll be gone for six days, so I'm prepping my apartment for my absence. In other words, I bought more litter boxes.

Who's feeding them?? (and is there a town named "Kosh?")

Wish Diane could see those. She's the one who went on vacation and had her cats in the garage with 50 litter boxes!

First of all I hope you will have a great time in Osh and that the cats will not miss you too much ^__^

I'll be leaving out enough food and water to keep them fed and hydrated for a week. My main concern is how stinky my apartment is going to be when I get back. I clean litter boxes at least twice a day normally, so it will be SCARY when I return.

Also.... never heard of a Kosh, just Osh.

And Claire - I joined Expat Women back when I was living in South Korea, and I haven't been able to change my location in the EW directory. Is there a way to do that?

Whenever wife and I go abroad and leave the kitties behind, we always rely on neighbors and friends to care for our "kids"--and, surprise of surprises, there is always a line of folks waiting to feed and water them.

Thanks for sharing your photos and musings, here: I'm a lifelong Russophile, and I deeply envy the Russians in that they're blessed with bountiful snowfall and mystically crystalline winters.

I hope to make it to Omyakon sometime next year--or perhaps in 2010. All the best to you....
