Because I do! I know I haven't been much of a blogger of late... and I know not everyone wants to sign up for facebook. I've been trying to make sure that I upload the same photos to both facebook and flickr, since you don't have to sign up for anything to view my photos over there. Flickr's nice, but since I've got a huge honkin' amount of webspace that I'm paying for, I like to host my own, instead of paying someone else, too :)
"Gallery" and "Gallery2" are free/open source software to host photo galleries online. Most software (even from Apple) has an export-to-Gallery option.
I'm waiting to see how Gallery3 turns out before I make any decisions on going with Flickr or not.
Hi, this might be a little off topic but I was wondering - did you work when you were in Bishkek? If so, was it at the London School of Bishkek? I came across your blog searching for info from a teacher's perspective about that school. I'm pondering employment with them after my Peace Corps service in KG ends this summer. If you did work there, could you give me your impressions about the school, pay etc...? If not, sorry to bother you!
