Current temperature, Daegu, South Korea:
Current temperature, Vladimir, Russia
Yes, I understand that the time difference definitely plays a part in this, but it's not like it got much warmer during the day, and it will definitely get colder tonight. The thing is, Saturday was in the 60s and I was out and about without a coat.

OMG it was sooooo cold tonight. Walking back from a DVD room at midnight and all the underground walkways downtown were closed and the car was like 7 blocks away. Thought I was going to freeze to death. Heard it was going to get warmer again by the weekend. Go go SPRING!!!

As much as I hate to say it, I'd like to have warm weather like that. This nasty cold snap..
-17°C
A few clouds
FEELS LIKE -26°C
WIND W 19 km/h
*shivers*
Hmmm - both Saturday and Sunday are supposed to have lows of 26F, with highs of 52F. Warmer than what we've got going on right now, but not exactly what my Southern sensabilities call "spring"!
What was more confounding was finding that for the frozen or at least cold weeks in January, every place in western russia that i did on yahoo weather was warmer than my mild portland oregon. that was really wierd and not at all what i was expecting. i was hoping for some "at least its warmer here than it is in..." consolation. No such luck. My friends in saratov say its more like st petes weather there now...rain. not snow.
hmmm bad news.
Adeline - It's been driving me crazy that I was there for the coldest winter in decades and this winter is the WARMEST in recorded history for Russia. Grrr.
friends in saratov said it was warm last winter there too...probably because they are much further south than vladimir. I am actually relieved that it was cold when you were there because... i mean I am seeing these dead polar bears and inconvenient truths and i think i would just be all kinds "this is not right!" if russia started getting all warm...
weather everywhere has just been all nutso, and russia just needs to be cold in jan and that is all i have to say about that...
