One of my Korean students (who is actually a former student; he has Katy as his teacher now), brought me a birthday present yesterday. A bit late as my birthday was last month, but super sweet: Korean (quality! Dong A!) whiteboard markers, a whiteboard eraser, and a chain of miniature paper cranes with "Happy Birthday Jane" spelled out on their wings.

wua-i-ta-boe-da ma-kka!
lol
seriously, i read the writing on the markers and laughed hysterically. I miss Korea.
Not to rain on your birthday present, but I think that brand sucks! They're great the first day, become pink/sky blue/grey on day 2 and are dead by day 3.
I know too much about Korean ma-kka-suh.
Amusing Korean student anecdote of the day:
A line in some dictation homework was "I want to be a doctor, but I'm not sure if I'm qualified to cure people."
One student wrote, "I want to be a doctor, but I'm not sure if I'm qualified to kill people."
At least he didn't say he wanted "to give you the clap" :-)
I must say, one Dong-A marker lasted 2 weeks of continuous use, and is still running, whereas the crap low-end chinese markers we usually get here barely make it through the day!
