Barack Obama for President!

Barack Obama for President!

Ever since his speech during the 2004 Democratic Convention (when I found myself wishing that he, not Kerry, were the Democratic nominee) I have been hoping that Obama would run in 2008. I know who I'm voting for!

The only way I can see him winning if he is the democratic nomination, is if he has the appeal for the youth in this country who are influenced by black culture to vote for him.

I doubt he has enough bling.

If we take too many chances, we may end up with a moral victory and not a presidential one. Sad to say, but we have to get the boat steady before we can rock it. Or there won't be a boat to speak of after the firworks are done.

I think that he is fantastic, but I really think that Hillary is going to win the nomination. I personally think that it is a mistake because at this point it really looks like we are run by a political oligarchy and to add Clinton to the list of Bush and Adams really makes our democracy look like a farce. Of course, this is my opinion. I am affraid that if either Hillary or Obama win the election it could turn out to be a moral victory, but I also think that people have been taken down the laissez-faire road of big oil, big buissness, and the milityary industrial complex pushed by independent buisness enough. Really, the past seven years have been incredibly disillusioning to me, and I do not think that I could handle another conservative republican of any strip including liberal Gulianai though I might think about Alan Greenspan if he considered, but it would only be a momentary thought. Right now, I am blocking it all out. One year is a long way away, and we are going to hear about this shit everyday until then. I have political fatigue, and sadly the American public has nothing to show for their partisan bickering except an out of control Civil War and a mounting debt that is draining our economy and will be a national issue very soon if it does not get under control. I think that it is sad that we are going to be punished for our parents fallices, but I believe that is the direction that we are headed. Even though we contol the strings to the IMF, China now owns most of our debt and are not guided by the IMF, and what happens when they begin to demand that money back. All of those tax breaks are not going to look so pretty. Oh well, enough political turmoil. Hoorah Obama! Hope fully, he can bring new life to the electorate and hopefully we live in a world where the threat of political assassination is no longer a real threat at all. Of course, I will say that 08 is shapeing up a lot like 68 and has the same feelings and frustrations of the era from what I have read on the time period. Its intresting. Hope that all is well.

I like Obama better than the other democratic candidates too. I dont think Hillary can get elected. Intuition. Just dont think she will be IT. Obama, hearing him speak, he is IT, for the dems.

ps not all christians sling their religion as a bid for power, as Georgie has done. is christianity that much of a deal breaker?

i think I would call it a plutocracy more than an oligarchy, but I heard a good think on radical, er i mean alternative radio that mentioned that and it actually rang true... I think it was Howard Zinn, it sounded like him, and he is practically socialist so this is something he would say....

I'm interested in his immigration stance. With more Americans killed by illegal immigrants than have died in the Iraq war over the same time period, does he have any ideas on this issue?

Also, we as Americans pay about 40% of our incomes on some type of taxes (from gas, sales, sin, to income taxes). what are his policies concerning taxes?

Thanks,
