Back from Issyk-Kul

I just got back from a wonderful and amazing weekend at Lake Issyk Kul. I took tons (perhaps even hundreds) of photos and quite a few videos. It will take a while for me to get them sorted and uploaded and to get a post written - so check back over the next few days. In the interim, read the two Valentine's Day posts below, which I would've posted sooner, except the internet cafe was without electricity :-)

w. shedd - awesome photo! even though the weather on our side of the lake was clear, the mountains on the otherside were weathed in clouds, and you can barely make them out in my photos.

Englishman - column?

Ah, Jane.......

In a newspaper, a "column" is literally a vertical piece of text. However what it really means is a vertical piece of text beonging to a "columnist", who is of course the writer. But a "columnist" is more - because they are generally the superstars, the people to whom the average reader goes first because they like them. In a way, they kind of define a good newspaper. And then of course we have the blog - which is a kind of living column, and the blogger who is an internet enabled columnist.......

Well, enough of the old waffle - great photos! I really enjoyed them.

Kind regards
