I've spent a lot of time in Russia - enough to learn firsthand that the Russian's have a far different (possibly nonxistent) attitude towards the notion of what constitutes sexual harassment than we have in the States... although one would assume that the president of Russia would have the common sense not to joke about rape. Or perhaps one wouldn't assume that, considering what Vladimir Putin said regarding the rape charges facing President Moshe Katsav of Israel:
"What a mighty man he turns out to be! He raped 10 women - I would never have expected this from him. He surprised us all - we all envy him!"

Hah...he seems to say a surplus of cringeworthy things these days. I was just watching the news and he made a pretty stupid analogy while describing our relations with the EU. It'll probably be in the papers tomorrow...
