The first part of yesterday was pretty fabulous. At around 11am I met up with Rob, and we headed out to the Bullo Dong tombs (which are essentially located behind the Daegu airport, if you're interested). The Bullo Dong tombs are giant earthen mounds which house the remains of the royalty who ruled this area in the 5th and 6th centuries. While I'd been to the Bullo Dong tombs back in 2004, I hadn't yet ventured out there this trip. In the early spring, the tombs are covered with a thick carpet of yellow flowers. While the flowers were definitely past their peak, there were still quite a few, and the tombs were definitely scenic.
This is my favorite of the shots I took yesterday.
A nice spot for a rest.
Understudy Part 2 (remember part 1?)
Daisy (?) macro - complete with spider that I didn't see at the time!
Bee and cricket (?) macro
We were accosted (but in a nice way) by a photography club, the members of which for some reason really, really wanted to take pictures of the two of us standing around feeling a tad foolish.
They rewarded us with polaroids.
As it was such a beautiful day, we decided to make the most of it, and head up to Palgong Mountain. We went to Pagye Temple (Pagyesa) as Rob had never been there before. (I visited Pagyesa back in November, and took a lot of pictures then. As such I didn't take too many this time around.)
This little scene looked a lot different the last time I was here!

The airing of monks' dirty laundry

Scary grinning turtle
Heh heh. I couldn't help myself :-)
So, that part of the day was great. I got home around 4pm, turned on the AC for the first time this year, and passed out on the couch for a well needed nap. I woke up about two hours later with a splitting headache. Splitting headache soon evolved into a full blown migraine with all the accompanying side-effects. (I'm not going to go into detail; suffice it to say that it was thoroughly unpleasant. Symptoms here if you're interested; let's just say I fit that description perfectly.) This was the first migraine I'd had in nearly four years (if you don't include that close cousin of the migraine that popped up when my BP crashed last year), and it was absolutely terrifying - not to mention wholly debilitating. I wasn't able to go to work today because my head was still pounding this morning. Sigh. I had really thought I'd outgrown migraines.

Let's hope this is just a freak occurance. Hope you are feeling better!
It could have been heat stroke or exhaustion. I nearly did myself in by going fishing in the hottest part of the day yesterday and spending 4 hours roundtrip getting to the small lake and back on my bicycle while carrying 40 pounds in my backpack. I haven't spent that much time in 85+ degree weather since I left Texas over 9 months ago. I was in rough shape yesterday evening and throughout the night. Now, I am suffering from cold/flu-like symptons.
I made it to work, but one class had to watch a video on snakes--they weren't complaining. I want to make it to class tomorrow, and I can rest on Wednesday. It's not going to be easy. Just hope my voice holds out.
Beautiful photos! Jane, I hope you're feeling better soon - if not already!
Aw Janecheek. Feel better!
