All dressed up with nowhere to go....

...walkin' with a dead man over my shoulder. Seriously, I've had that song stuck in my head all day. It's true though; I *am* all dressed up and I don't have anywhere to go. Halloween is absolutely my favorite holiday of the year, and not having plans is hardly going to deter me from donning a stunning costume. This is because on Halloween I can dress exactly how I want and no one thinks it's all that bizarre. Yeah, I'm 29 years old and running mundane errands in my costume, but it's Halloween so it's okay. Trust me, I know from experience that if you go to WalMart (which I did today) on any other day of the year dressed like this, they treat you quite strangely. They may even have security follow you around. But, since it was Halloween, I simply got compliments on my costume. I even had one fellow in the parking lot ask me if I was supposed to be Marie Laveau. I think he was as much surprised that I knew who she was as I was that he did. People have been asking me all day what I'm supposed to be. Honestly, I just like the way the costume looks; I have no idea what I'm supposed to "be." In addition to going to WalMart (even the voodoo queen of New Orleans needs to buy kitty litter on occasion), I went to the post office ("Are you supposed to be Elvira?"), Hot Toddy (have I mentioned how yummy their coffee is?) and Waycross College. The college was having a costume contest for teachers and students. I'm neither, but I decided to go and watch. I'd tried to convince my mother to wear my costume, since it's awesome and she is my size, but she declined. (Although after seeing me in it, she promises to wear it next year. You know, when I'm not here to take pictures and post them on the web.) Sadly, more teachers than students were in costume.

Yeah, my "costume" the other day was just some makeup because I like to wear makeup.

You look fantastic! I'll be posting pics of the school Halloween Party later. The kids kept asking where you were (like they thought you'd pop over for the Halloween party from America--tee hee!).
